Key Responsibilities at MongoDB
- Design, develop, and maintain automated tests and frameworks for the MongoDB query engine.
- Build performance automated tests for distributed query processing and optimization pipelines.
- Collaborate with peers to ensure test coverage for happy-path and edge-case scenarios in new features.
- Identify, isolate, and document bugs in database query systems; partner with developers for resolutions.
- Enhance automation frameworks to boost test coverage, reduce execution time, and improve diagnostics.
- Review testing plans in project design phases and certify coverage at completion.
- Provide expert feedback in code reviews focusing on testing robustness and reliability.
- Develop test strategies for MQL syntax, semantics, and unique query engine behaviors.
- Monitor and improve query performance testing frameworks for customer workloads.
Qualifications & Requirements
- 3+ years in QA automation or software development with test automation focus.
- Strong programming skills in Python, Java, or similar for large codebases.
- Proven experience testing multi-tiered backend systems and distributed environments.
- Computer science fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, software design/architecture.
- Experience with performance test plans and monitoring frameworks.
- Database background, especially NoSQL query engines, is a strong plus.
- B.Sc. in Computer Science or equivalent; advanced database experience preferred.
