Role Overview

The Security Officer position at the Radisson Downtown Salt Lake City is pivotal to the day-to-day operations and long-term strategy of our safety and security department. We're seeking an energetic, proactive individual to join our Security Team. This full-time role balances hands-on safety tasks (40%), team development (40%), and leadership responsibilities (20%), ensuring a secure environment for guests, employees, and hotel assets.

Key Responsibilities

Safety & Security Tasks (40%)

• Conduct routine inspections of the loading dock and employee parking areas before each shift to ensure cleanliness and remove trash or debris.
• Investigate cleanliness violations and follow up with responsible departments.
• Respond immediately to emergencies, safeguarding guests, employees, and hotel assets.
• Review and ensure accuracy of accident investigation reports.
• Perform regular property patrols to maintain safety and security, identifying and addressing risks.

Team Development (40%)

• Orient new employees to Security department and hotel operations.
• Provide on-the-job training for security procedures and parking applications.
• Assist staff with parking system operations, including resets, ticket jams, and audits.
• Promote proactive security with a focus on customer care.
• Maintain positive relationships with hotel departments and vendors.

Leadership Role (20%)

• Promote daily security awareness and deliver training to staff and management.
• Act as liaison for hotel management and guests in the absence of leadership.
• Meet regularly with Area Director of Facilities and attend event Pre-Cons.
• Lead within the Security team and Safety Committee.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Minimum one year of security experience.
