As a Senior Accountant, you'll own critical areas of financial close processes with a focus on compensation and personnel accounting. Partner cross-functionally with People, Recruiting, and engineering teams to ensure US GAAP compliance while leveraging tools like Netsuite, FloQast, and Tableau. Key Responsibilities at Datadog

• Lead financial close processes: Own monthly, quarterly, and annual closes with primary focus on compensation and personnel-related accounting under US GAAP.
• Cross-functional partnership: Collaborate with People, Recruiting, and business teams to support processes, resolve reconciliations, and ensure accurate accounting treatment.
• Advanced financial analytics: Perform detailed analysis over results to validate completeness, accuracy, and integrity of financial statements.
• Issue resolution: Investigate reporting discrepancies and communicate findings promptly to stakeholders.
• SEC compliance: Assist in preparing and filing 10-Q, 10-K external financial statements and footnotes.
• Audit leadership: Serve as primary contact for year-end audits, quarterly reviews, internal audits, and SOX 404 requests.
• Process optimization: Identify and implement improvements to streamline, standardize, and automate accounting workflows.
• Project leadership: Drive special projects including ERP system implementations, process redesigns, and ad-hoc financial modeling.
• Team development: Mentor and train junior accountants to build high-performing finance capabilities.

Qualifications & Requirements

• 3+ years progressive accounting experience, preferably in public company or Big 4 professional services.
• CPA certification (active or in-progress) with BS/BA in Accounting.
• Deep technical expertise in US GAAP, SOX 404 controls, and SEC reporting standards.
• Hands-on proficiency with Netsuite ERP, FloQast close management, Workiva reporting, and Tableau visualization.
• Proven track record managing complex month-end closes and compensation accounting in high-growth tech environments.
• Exceptional communication skills with ability to influence across all organizational levels.
• Self-starter who thrives under pressure, meets deadlines, and drives continuous improvement.
