Position Summary

Join Sonoco's Corporate Accounting team as a Senior Consolidations Accountant, reporting to the Manager of Global Consolidation and Corporate Accounting. This critical role supports the controllership function for a $5+ billion publicly traded organization, ensuring accurate and timely financial statements through monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidations. This hybrid position is based at our Corporate Headquarters in Hartsville, SC, with consideration for our Charlotte, NC office—conveniently near Myrtle Beach, Charleston, Columbia, and Charlotte.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate monthly, quarterly, and annual closes and global consolidations, including business unit submissions.
• Perform consolidation procedures, inter-company balance investigations, and OneStream cash flow workflows.
• Compile consolidated balance sheets, income statements, cash flows, and executive reports.
• Support 10-Q/10-K reviews, audit committee materials, and quarterly/annual audit deliverables.
• Prepare CFO financial presentations for earnings calls, board meetings, and management.
• Conduct corporate balance sheet flux analysis and manage quarterly Government Surveys.
• Contribute to system transformations, process improvements, and governance over organizational structure/GL changes.
• Deliver ad hoc financial analysis and reporting.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting (CPA preferred).
• Knowledge of financial accounting/reporting, ideally in publicly traded multinational manufacturing.
• Solid understanding of control design, operational efficiency, and GAAP.
• Strong systems experience (OneStream, Oracle Finance, data warehouses).
• Advanced Excel skills for data manipulation and analysis.
• Excellent communication, analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to thrive in fast-paced environments.
