Key Responsibilities at MongoDB

As a core member of the MongoDB Professional Services team, your role will involve hands-on technical leadership and customer success. Key responsibilities include:

• Contribute to customer implementations across all phases: portfolio assessment, application planning, design, deployment, development, integration, testing, production operations, and optimization.
• Architect scalable MongoDB deployments using Kubernetes and containers for enterprise-scale performance.
• Deliver expert classroom training to customer architects, developers, and ops teams on MongoDB best practices.
• Collaborate with project managers, account teams, and consulting peers to ensure seamless project delivery.
• Serve as a trusted advisor, guiding customers on NoSQL data modeling, performance tuning, and cloud migrations.
• Partner directly with MongoDB Product and Engineering to shape the future of our unified database platform.
• Drive adoption scenarios from building new AI-native apps to modernizing legacy systems.
• Travel short trips to customer sites, gaining cross-stack experience in diverse industries.

Qualifications & Requirements

We're seeking a highly technical Senior Consulting Engineer with exceptional problem-solving and communication skills. Ideal candidates demonstrate:

• Deep expertise in data platform design, operational excellence, data modeling, performance tuning, and scaling for databases like MongoDB, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or Oracle.
• 10+ years in software development/consulting across multiple industries.
• Strong Linux proficiency and hands-on experience with Kubernetes/containers for database management.
• Competence in Java, C#, Python, Node.js, Ruby, or Go.
• Proven track record as a trusted advisor with confident presentation skills in customer environments.
• Familiarity with enterprise architectures, app dev methodologies, and DevOps operations.
• Comfort with frequent workweek travel to client sites.
