The Senior Director, Medical Affairs - USMA Strategy HIV, is a pivotal leadership position within Gilead's US Medical Affairs team. Reporting to the Executive Director of the HIV Treatment Strategy team, this role demands a seasoned professional with deep HIV expertise to bridge medical and commercial strategies. In this role, you'll provide strategic medical leadership for Gilead's HIV portfolio. Key duties include acting as a scientific liaison between US Medical Affairs, Global Medical Affairs, and Commercial teams to align strategies. You'll offer expert input on brand planning and commercialization, represent Medical Affairs in key meetings, and communicate medical initiatives, data timelines, and publication plans to stakeholders.
Additional responsibilities encompass collaborating with Legal, Regulatory, Clinical, and Public Affairs on cross-functional projects; supporting commercial activities like scientific advisory boards, Promotional Review Committee reviews, and training materials; and aligning medical plans with portfolio and launch strategies. Your work will ensure Gilead's HIV therapies reach patients effectively while maintaining regulatory compliance.
Basic qualifications include an MD, DO, NP, PA, PharmD, or other advanced health care degree with 8+ years of relevant industry or clinical experience in HIV. At least 5 years of pharmaceutical industry experience, preferably in leadership roles, is required. Candidates must possess excellent verbal, written, visual communication, and interpersonal skills, along with experience in vendor contracting, budgeting, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Preferred skills feature expertise in medical information provision, slide development, medical writing, project and conference management, strong organizational abilities, and proficiency with complex scientific resources. Full adherence to US Medical Affairs regulatory and legal standards is mandatory.
