Position Summary
Join Sonoco as a Senior Electronic Technician in Milwaukee, WI. This full-time role offers $42.28/hour plus $1.00/hour shift differential, $5,000 sign-on bonus, and relocation assistance. Work the 6pm-6am shift on a rotating schedule: 3 days on/4 off, 4 on/3 off. Diagnose, repair, and maintain advanced electrical systems in a state-of-the-art manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot Allen-Bradley PLCs (ControlLogix, CompactLogix, MicroLogix) and control systems.
- Handle 24VDC, 120VAC, and 480VAC electrical systems, VFDs, and motor controls.
- Read schematics, install panels, program PLCs with RSLogix 5000/Studio 5000.
- Perform preventive maintenance, document changes, ensure safety compliance (LOTO, PPE).
- Collaborate across teams to resolve automation issues.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years industrial electrical technician experience (degree may substitute).
- Expertise in Allen-Bradley PLCs, electrical schematics, industrial automation.
- Familiarity with NFPA 70E, NEC standards; strong troubleshooting skills.
- Associate degree in Electrical Engineering Technology preferred.

Responsibilities
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and control systems including Allen-Bradley PLCs
- Maintain 24VDC control circuits, 120VAC/480VAC power systems
- Install, wire, and test electrical panels ensuring code compliance
- Modify and program PLCs using RSLogix 5000 and Studio 5000
- Troubleshoot motor control systems, VFDs, contactors, relays, HMIs
- Conduct preventive maintenance and document all electrical changes
- Collaborate with engineering, production, safety teams; enforce safety procedures
