Position Summary

Sonoco is seeking a skilled Senior Electronic Technician for our Milwaukee, WI facility. This full-time, mid-level role offers competitive pay starting at $42.28/hour plus $1.00/hour shift differential, a $5,000 sign-on bonus, and relocation assistance. Work the 6pm-6am shift on a rotating schedule: 3 days on/4 off, then 4 on/3 off. Join our team to diagnose, troubleshoot, and maintain advanced electrical systems in a cutting-edge manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and control systems, including Allen-Bradley PLCs (ControlLogix, CompactLogix, MicroLogix).
• Work with 24VDC control circuits, 120VAC control/power, and 480VAC three-phase systems.
• Read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and technical docs.
• Install, wire, and test electrical panels ensuring code compliance.
• Program PLCs using RSLogix 5000 and Studio 5000.
• Maintain motor controls, VFDs, HMIs, and conduct preventive maintenance.
• Collaborate with teams and document all changes accurately.
• Enforce safety procedures like Lockout/Tagout and PPE.

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years as Electrical Technician in industrial/manufacturing (degree may substitute).
• Proficiency in Allen-Bradley PLCs and software.
• Hands-on with 24VDC/120VAC/480VAC systems, schematics, VFDs.
• Familiarity with NFPA 70E, NEC safety standards.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, communication skills.
• Associate degree in Electrical Engineering Technology preferred.
