Key Responsibilities at MongoDB

• Own critical internal tools: Take full ownership of implementation and long-term maintenance of platforms enabling coworker efficiency
• Lead technical design: Drive architectural decisions and lead discussions across engineering teams
• Deliver high-quality code: Write maintainable code while setting engineering excellence standards
• Proactively solve problems: Identify technical debt, reliability risks, and scalability concerns before they impact teams
• Collaborate cross-functionally: Partner with engineers, product teams, and stakeholders to prioritize impactful work
• Build full-stack solutions: Develop from front-end UIs (React, Next.js) to backend APIs (FastAPI) and database migrations

Qualifications & Requirements

Our ideal Senior Engineer, Internal Engineering candidate brings:

• 6+ years professional software engineering experience building production systems
• Deep expertise in modern languages: Python, Go, Rust, or equivalent
• Proven ability to independently solve complex engineering challenges
• Strong communication for cross-team collaboration in hybrid environment
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, containerized apps, CI/CD (Drone.io or similar)
• Passion for building reliable, usable enterprise software
