Key Responsibilities at Datadog

• Design and implement core components of our zero-instrumentation APM product using eBPF and Go
• Build systems for automatic service discovery and Layer 7 protocol classification
• Develop capabilities to extract RED metrics from both plaintext and TLS-encrypted traffic
• Solve complex protocol parsing, encryption handling, and kernel-level performance challenges
• Ensure broad compatibility across Linux kernel versions, distributions, and customer environments
• Lead technical design and implementation of observability features
• Collaborate cross-functionally to drive product roadmap and enhance reliability
• Optimize systems for production-scale performance in real-world deployments

Qualifications & Requirements

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

• Significant backend/systems development experience with strong proficiency in Go, C, or C++
• Comfort working close to the Linux kernel with eBPF experience or strong interest
• Deep knowledge of networking protocols, TLS internals, or distributed tracing
• Proven ability to build scalable systems in complex, production environments
• Passion for performance optimization and efficiency at kernel level
