Role Overview

Join MongoDB, the modern developer data platform powering the AI era, as a Senior Financial Analyst in our Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team. This role focuses on R&D Business Partnering for the Product & Technology (P&T) organization in New York City. You'll drive data-driven insights into R&D investments, enhance customer experience for senior stakeholders, and build critical relationships across Finance, Operations, and People teams. Preference for 2-3 days in-person (Tue-Thu) in our NYC office, with remote options for East Coast timezone alignment.

As a Senior Financial Analyst, you'll enable executives to make informed decisions using financial and operational data from our globally distributed, multi-cloud database.

Key Responsibilities at MongoDB

Deliver operational excellence and big-picture initiatives in a fast-paced environment:

• Build Relationships: Become the reliable partner for P&T leaders, connecting their priorities to company objectives.
• Forecasting & Budgeting: Lead processes with VPs, prioritizing growth levers, risks, and headcount optimization.
• Financial Hygiene: Own month-end close, budget vs. actuals reporting, and headcount reconciliations.
• Operational Effectiveness: Scale processes like vendor contract automation and internal system leverage.
• Data Analysis: Create ad-hoc analyses, financial models, and dashboards for resource allocation.
• Headcount Planning: Partner with HR and Recruiting for workforce efficiencies.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Drive buy-in for process improvements across teams.
• Decision Support: Guide investments in product initiatives using MongoDB data insights.
• 90-Day Goals: Own monthly close and key VP+ relationships in P&T.

Qualifications & Requirements

To succeed at MongoDB, bring:

• 2-5 years in FP&A, financial services, consulting, or data analytics.
• Advanced proficiency in spreadsheet modeling and multi-source data analysis; Workday Adaptive or Anaplan experience preferred.
• Curiosity-driven approach to stakeholder work and system-building.
• Track record thriving in ambiguity with strong prioritization.
• Concise, persuasive communication turning insights into execution.
