Key Responsibilities at Rivian

• Design, train, and deploy large deep learning models utilizing vast labeled and unlabeled data from million-vehicle fleets.
• Improve the ecosystem for training infrastructure and deployment pipelines to speed up model iteration and boost performance.
• Develop custom operations using PyTorch, CUDA, or Triton to enhance model efficiency.
• Conduct large-scale distributed training of foundation models for autonomous driving applications.
• Profile models and perform detective work to optimize training and inference speed.
• Implement acceleration techniques for transformer architectures, including quantization and pruning.
• Collaborate on E2E autonomy solutions with cross-functional teams in London.
• Scale AI infrastructure to handle petabyte-scale datasets from Rivian vehicles.
• Deploy optimized models for edge computing in real-world autonomous systems.

Qualifications & Requirements

To succeed in this Senior Machine Learning Engineer role at Rivian, you need a strong technical foundation:

• PhD in CS/CE/EE or equivalent industry experience in machine learning.
