The Senior Manager, Credit and Collections role at Choice Hotels offers a strategic leadership opportunity within our Finance organization. Based at our state-of-the-art Pike & Rose headquarters in North Bethesda, Maryland, this position provides enterprise-wide oversight of credit risk management, collections strategies, and cash flow optimization. Reporting to Finance leadership, you will balance rigorous risk controls with strong franchise relationships across brands like Comfort Inn, Quality Inn, and Radisson. This hybrid role (4 days onsite, 1 day remote) is ideal for seasoned professionals with hospitality or franchising experience seeking to impact financial performance in a high-growth environment. Salary range: $93,000 to $110,000 annually, plus eligibility for the Management Incentive Plan (MIP) bonus.
Analyze accounts receivable data using advanced Excel tools like VLOOKUP, Power Pivot, and Macros to identify opportunities and drive data-informed decisions. Develop strategies to reduce aged receivables, improve Days Sales Outstanding (DSO), and oversee defaults, terminations, and bad debt write-offs. Provide guidance on franchisee outreach while balancing risk and relationships.
Lead credit evaluation, approval, monitoring, and risk management for franchise and corporate accounts. Enhance credit policies to align with business goals and industry best practices, ensuring consistent enforcement across all brands. Proactively identify trends and recommend mitigations to senior leadership.
Build and coach high-performing teams through hiring, training, and performance management. Partner with Legal, Franchise Operations, Billing, and Finance to resolve complex issues, serving as the escalation point for high-impact accounts.
Drive automation, including AI-enabled solutions, to enhance efficiency. Deliver executive-level reports and actionable insights on portfolio health and risks.
Candidates must have 8+ years of progressive experience in credit, collections, accounts receivable, or financial operations, including 5+ years in people leadership. A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field is required (or equivalent experience). Preferred backgrounds include franchising, hospitality, or multi-unit environments.
Technical skills are essential: advanced Excel proficiency (VLOOKUPs, Power Pivot, Macros), plus Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word. Key competencies include strong analytics, cross-functional influence, negotiation, conflict resolution, and communication. This role requires commitment to our North Bethesda location with a hybrid schedule—no relocation or sponsorship available.
