Role Overview

The Senior Manager - Data Engineer position in Hyderabad, Telangana, is a pivotal role within PepsiCo's expanding Global Digital Commerce Team. This role focuses on building global data products using data warehouse and cloud techniques to support international growth. As a seasoned data engineer, you will tackle complex business challenges in digital marketing, online grocery platforms, and supply chain tools for at-home delivery. Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will take full ownership of data pipeline development from end-to-end, including data modeling, testing, scalability, operability, and ongoing metrics monitoring. You will contribute to engineering best practices and coding standards as part of PepsiCo's world-class team. Collaboration is key: work closely with product teams on core technology platforms and participate in architecture discussions to continually improve and expand these platforms. Deliver high-quality data pipelines through rigorous analysis of system capabilities, feature requests, peer reviews, test automation, and QA partnerships. Introduce innovative tools and practices to enhance data and code quality, whether by sourcing third-party libraries or developing in-house solutions. Finally, ensure robust support for team pipelines through exception handling, monitoring, and proactive debugging of production issues.

Qualifications & Requirements

Candidates must have 5+ years of experience designing and building systems for collecting, storing, and analyzing data at scale. Required technical skills include Python, PySpark, SQL, Airflow, DBT, Big Data technologies like Hadoop (Hive/Impala), and cloud platforms AWS and Azure. Strong interpersonal skills are essential for interacting with onshore teams to understand enterprise information management needs. Preference is given to those with experience in Retail, E-commerce, or Financial Services domains. A Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering or a related analytics field from a premier Tier-1 institute in India is required. You should demonstrate very strong analytical skills, hands-on experience with large datasets using Python/PySpark/SQL/Hive/Impala, and a proven record of achievement with an entrepreneurial approach. Outstanding communication skills and deep knowledge of database design and engineering are also critical.
