The Senior Manager, SOX Compliance and Controls position within Global Accounting, Advisory and Reporting is a pivotal audit advisory role in Gilead's Controllership group. Key Responsibilities

In this senior leadership role, you will:

• Design and optimize key SOX controls, including business processes, interfaces, and IT application controls.
• Identify opportunities for audit process improvements, such as automation and technology integration for efficient audits.
• Conduct financial reporting risk assessments, including materiality, inherent risks, and control effectiveness.
• Lead remediation of control deficiencies and evaluate aggregation risks.
• Collaborate with external auditors, Gilead Internal Audit, and global teams on audit planning, scoping, and execution.
• Support the global SAP rollout by redesigning processes, developing SOD rule sets, and auditing key reports.
• Audit complex areas like significant estimates, management review controls, revenue/gross-to-net, and pharmaceutical manufacturing.

Qualifications & Requirements

To excel, candidates need:

• Comprehensive SOX audit experience, strongly preferring external audit leadership in multi-national environments.
• Expertise in audit risks, evidence documentation, materiality assessments, and complex judgments like control deficiencies.
• Strong technical skills in US GAAP, core financial statement areas, and SEC disclosures.
• Proficiency in SAP controls, including IT application controls, SOD matrices, and key report audits.
• Experience designing and auditing management review controls, especially with estimates, forecasts, and precision levels.
• Knowledge of biopharma-specific accounting: revenue cycles, treasury, stock admin, R&D, and manufacturing.
