As a Senior Product Manager, Search Platform, you'll architect the future of search infrastructure powering highly performant search and AI applications for enterprise customers worldwide. This role sits at the intersection of infrastructure innovation and customer impact, defining how organizations leverage MongoDB Atlas Search, vector search, and hybrid retrieval at scale.

Work alongside brilliant engineers building distributed systems that anticipate tomorrow's AI-native applications. You'll serve as strategic partner and technical translator, maintaining vision 18-24 months ahead while driving operational excellence. New York City or San Francisco preferred (hybrid), with remote options for North America.

Key Responsibilities at MongoDB

• Drive the long-term technical vision for MongoDB Search, anticipating emerging patterns in vector, hybrid, and AI-native applications 12–18 months ahead of market demand
• Act as the voice of customers building mission-critical AI applications, uncovering latent needs around scalability, consistency, and multi-tenancy
• Partner deeply with engineering leadership to translate complex technical tradeoffs into business value and production stability
• Collaborate with SRE and Solutions Architects to build advanced observability and feedback loops from production signals
• Conduct architectural audits of the search stack and debate replication flows with Staff Engineers
• Deliver reports identifying top sources of operational toil and observability blind spots
• Ship immediate reliability improvements demonstrating value to engineering teams
• Guide architectural decisions without formal authority, translating them into market differentiation

Qualifications & Requirements

• 5+ years PM experience with specific focus on infrastructure or distributed systems
• Deep technical authority in CAP theorem, consistency models, sharding strategies, and production debugging
• Strategic vision at the technical edge—comfortable debating consensus protocols with engineers
• Data-driven storytelling connecting low-level metrics to executive business outcomes
• Unrivaled influence earning trust of senior engineers through technical depth and respect for complexity
• Visionary customer obsession designing platform products for developers building abstractions

Nice to Have: Direct experience with Elasticsearch, Solr, Lucene, vector databases, or AI/ML infrastructure at scale.

Salary & Benefits

Salary Range: $180,000 - $260,000 USD base (total compensation includes equity and comprehensive benefits). Actual compensation within this range depends on experience, skills, and location.
