Key Responsibilities at Datadog

• Implement the full detection engineering lifecycle to identify threats across Datadog's infrastructure and manage scalable detection backlogs
• Build, maintain, and refine detection metrics to communicate effectiveness and drive improvements with incident response, threat intelligence, and product stakeholders
• Research and operationalize Datadog Logs platform telemetry into actionable security detections within the Datadog Cloud SIEM
• Partner directly with incident response teams during active threats to guide threat hunting and containment strategies
• Identify inefficiencies in detection content development and implement tooling and automation using Python or Go to streamline engineering workflows
• Lead development of threat hunts based on latest threat intelligence and attack surface priorities to uncover missed threats and telemetry gaps
• Translate complex cloud-native threat actor TTPs into scalable detection rules across AWS, GCP, Azure, and Kubernetes environments
• Collaborate with product teams to enhance Datadog security products and contribute to platform improvements
• Stay ahead of emerging threats through continuous research from blogs, whitepapers, and security conferences

Qualifications & Requirements

To succeed in this role, you'll bring proven experience in operational security domains including:

• 5+ years in detection engineering, threat hunting, security operations, cloud security, or related fields
• Hands-on experience with public cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and cloud-native technologies like Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform
• Demonstrated ability working with threat intelligence teams to research threats and build detections
• Deep understanding of cloud-native threat actor TTPs (AWS/Azure/GCP/Kubernetes) and corresponding defensive controls
• Expertise in Linux telemetry analysis for runtime threat detection
• Experience building detection and threat hunting tools using Python, Go, or similar languages
• Strong communication skills to collaborate across incident response, engineering, and product teams
