Key Responsibilities at Datadog
- Partner with Cyber Threat Intelligence and Detection Engineering teams to identify emerging threats targeting Datadog infrastructure
- Triage escalated alerts from Datadog Cloud SIEM and other detection systems to determine incident validity
- Serve as incident commander or responder during security incidents, coordinating cross-functional response efforts
- Develop Python and Go tools/automations to eliminate repetitive incident response tasks
- Lead post-incident reviews, tabletop exercises, and purple team activities to strengthen defenses
- Participate in light on-call rotation with comprehensive support and compensation
- Improve detection coverage for cloud-native threats (Kubernetes, containers, IAM abuse)
- Document runbooks and processes to enhance team efficiency and knowledge sharing
- Collaborate with engineering teams to implement security requirements in CI/CD pipelines
Qualifications & Requirements
- 5+ years in security incident response, threat hunting, SecOps, cloud security, or operational security
- Deep experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure plus Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform
- Expertise in cloud threat actor TTPs (living-off-the-land, container escapes, IAM persistence)
- Experience building incident response tools with Python, Go, or similar languages
- Strong analytical skills using diverse datasets (logs, metrics, traces, network flows)
- Comfortable in fast-paced, collaborative environment with on-call responsibilities
