Key Responsibilities at MongoDB

• Architect and maintain continuous delivery infrastructure using Argo Workflows and ArgoCD for all MongoDB engineering teams
• Develop world-class continuous deployment experiences enabling rapid, reliable shipment of MongoDB products including MongoDB Atlas
• Own the complete onboarding flow that other engineering teams follow when launching new products or services
• Collaborate across Platform Engineering teams to ensure consistent service-onboarding experiences
• Provide expert internal support for deployment systems, answering questions and resolving complex issues
• Contribute to open-source projects and engineer innovative software solutions like Kubernetes operators
• Participate in our 24/7 on-call rotation to maintain deployment infrastructure reliability
• Build self-service tooling that empowers development teams with clear system ownership
• Optimize multi-cloud infrastructure across AWS, GCP, and Azure for maximum efficiency
• Leverage containerization expertise to enhance application agility and resource utilization

Qualifications & Requirements

The ideal Senior SRE candidate brings deep technical expertise and a passion for automation:

• 6+ years of experience in software development and operating distributed systems at scale
• Proficiency in Python, Go, or similar systems programming languages
• Proven track record building and operating large-scale CI/CD pipelines
• Deep expertise with Kubernetes and container orchestration technologies
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms including AWS, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), or Azure
• Strong understanding of Linux internals, networking (TCP/IP, DNS, TLS, routing), and observability
• Customer-focused mindset with relentless drive for process efficiency
• Strong bias towards software solutions and automation—"allergic to ops work"
