Role Overview

As a Senior Software Engineer in Nike's Digital Employee Experience engineering team, you'll embed within the Communications Technology squad. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you'll collaborate with product managers, principal engineers, and cross-functional squads to deliver innovative AI-powered applications. This full-time role focuses on backend services, front-end development, data pipelines, and infrastructure, leveraging modern technologies like Python, AWS, React, and Kubernetes. Key Responsibilities

Your day-to-day will involve hands-on development and collaboration:

• Design and implement robust REST APIs using Python and FastAPI for seamless backend services.
• Build and maintain cloud-native applications on AWS, utilizing Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, Aurora RDS, S3, SNS/SQS.
• Develop scalable web applications with React, HTML, CSS, and modern JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks.
• Optimize data pipelines and services using Databricks, Snowflake, and PostgreSQL relational databases.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code with Terraform, CloudFormation, or AWS SAM, alongside containerization via Docker and Kubernetes.
• Set up CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and participate in architectural design sessions.
• Document API specifications and collaborate with data scientists, ML engineers, and platform teams for integrated solutions.

Qualifications & Requirements

Required Skills

• Proven experience developing backend services and REST APIs in Python.
• Expertise with AWS services including Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, Aurora RDS, S3, SNS/SQS.
• Strong front-end development using React and modern JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Solid SQL knowledge, experience with Snowflake, Databricks, and relational databases.
