Atlas Growth utilizes an in-house experiments platform for rapid feature validation through A/B testing, ensuring only customer-positive changes reach production. This role sits within the larger Atlas Core Engineering organization, where you'll build foundational elements of MongoDB's modern developer data platform.

Recent projects include personalized landing pages, database performance recommendation systems, and conversion-optimized pricing pages. Senior engineers lead complex initiatives, mentor teammates, and shape technical direction while proactively improving products, processes, and infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities at MongoDB

• Lead end-to-end complex projects, from technical design to production deployment on MongoDB Atlas.
• Write detailed scope and technical specification documents for large-scale initiatives assigned by management.
• Guide small working groups of 2-3 engineers, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing.
• Provide thorough, well-reasoned code reviews and feedback on team technical documentation.

Qualifications & Requirements

To succeed as a Senior Software Engineer at MongoDB, you'll need:

• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience, preferably in cloud or SaaS environments.
• Fluency in TypeScript and JavaScript, with deep experience building production web applications.
• Proficiency in compiled languages like Java, Go, C++, or C for performance-critical systems.
• Strong experience writing and optimizing database queries and indexes in document (MongoDB) or relational databases.
• Proven track record designing, releasing, and monitoring highly complex features end-to-end.
• Experience authoring and reviewing technical specifications for engineering projects.
