Key Responsibilities at Datadog

• Solve scaling bottlenecks: Identify and resolve performance issues in critical services handling massive data volumes.
• Production deployments: Roll out new features safely using feature flags, canary releases, and progressive delivery.
• Incident management: Lead investigations and fixes for production issues in team-owned services.
• Architecture design: Create scalable system designs to support growing traffic and data ingestion.
• Project planning: Collaborate with your team to prioritize high-impact engineering initiatives.
• Observability engineering: Build metrics, tracing, and logging solutions for cloud-native applications.
• AI integration: Leverage cutting-edge AI tools to accelerate coding, debugging, and optimization.
• Code excellence: Write simple, performant code and conduct thorough code reviews.
• Cross-team collaboration: Work with product, security, and infrastructure teams to deliver customer value.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Significant experience in Go, Python, Java, Rust or similar systems programming languages
• Demonstrated ability to design high-scale architectures for distributed systems
• Passion for code simplicity, performance optimization, and pragmatic engineering
• BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
• Thrives in fast-paced, high-growth startup environments focused on engineers and customers
• Excited to use AI coding tools (GitHub Copilot, Cursor, etc.) or eager to learn
