Key Responsibilities at MongoDB

• Ship measurable improvements through architecting, coding, and leading projects in WiredTiger storage engine
• Collaborate across teams to ensure success in our large, feature-rich C++ codebase
• Design and deliver features working with product management and neighboring engineering teams
• Proactively fix defects and diagnose customer issues with support
• Review code and interview candidates within six months of joining
• Mentor new engineers and promote MongoDB values of intellectual honesty and accountability
• Improve transaction management and scale the MongoDB server codebase
• Enhance resilience and availability for distributed database systems
• Own major feature development within your first year

Qualifications & Requirements

• 5+ years experience in programming, debugging, and performance tuning distributed/highly concurrent systems
• Computer Science degree or equivalent with expertise in data structures, algorithms, software design/architecture
• Industrial-strength software experience with large user bases, robust designs, high code quality
• Strong interest in database internals, NoSQL, and storage engines like WiredTiger
• Collaborative development in C++ environments
• Sydney-based for hybrid model (relocation not required)
