Datadog, the leading cloud monitoring and security platform, seeks exceptional Senior Software Engineers - Distributed Systems to join our Bordeaux, Lyon, and Tel Aviv offices. Our distributed systems team builds the foundational platforms powering Datadog's SaaS infrastructure, processing billions of events per second from global enterprises. You'll design fault-tolerant systems optimized for durability, high availability, low latency, and internet-scale operations.

Work on real-time data pipelines that ingest, store, analyze, and query massive telemetry streams using cutting-edge technologies like Kafka, Redis, Cassandra, and Elasticsearch. Key Responsibilities at Datadog

• Architect and build fault-tolerant, horizontally scalable solutions running in multi-tenant cloud environments
• Develop high-performance data pipelines handling billions of events per second in real-time
• Implement production platforms optimized for durability, high availability, and low latency
• Write production-grade code in Go, Java, Rust, or C++ with focus on performance
• Integrate and optimize open-source distributed systems components (Kafka, Redis, Cassandra, Elasticsearch)
• Own complete services from design through production deployment and monitoring
• Collaborate across teams to solve internet-scale infrastructure challenges
• Leverage AI coding tools to accelerate development and problem-solving

Qualifications & Requirements

• Advanced degree (BS/MS/PhD) in Computer Science, Engineering, or scientific field, or equivalent experience
• Significant backend experience with Go, Java, Rust, or C++ at scale
• Proven track record solving distributed systems challenges (high durability, low latency, high availability)
• Comfortable with low-level systems programming and performance optimization
• Passion for simple, elegant designs that deliver maximum performance
• Experience with distributed databases and streaming systems (Cassandra, Kafka, Redis, Elasticsearch)
