As a Senior Frontend Engineer, you'll design and maintain shared UI libraries, build pipelines, design systems, and developer tooling relied upon by hundreds of engineers daily.

Work closely with frontend teams across Datadog to understand workflows, eliminate pain points, and drive opportunities for new features. Your contributions will enhance reliability, performance, and engineering velocity at scale, shaping how frontend code is written, tested, and shipped company-wide. Key Responsibilities at Datadog

• Design and implement core frontend platform components including shared UI libraries, build systems, and performance tooling for cloud-scale applications.
• Develop and maintain internal developer tools that accelerate engineering workflows and promote consistency across teams.
• Lead architectural decisions for frontend infrastructure emphasizing scalability, reliability, and exceptional developer experience.
• Establish and promote best practices for testing, accessibility, performance optimization, and frontend standards in observability platforms.
• Build CI/CD tooling, local development environments, and automation supporting fast, reliable code delivery for DevOps pipelines.
• Mentor engineers and serve as technical leader for frontend tooling, platform design, and cloud monitoring integrations.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product teams to identify workflow pain points and drive impactful improvements.
• Contribute to design systems like Druids, powering Datadog's intuitive UI for infrastructure monitoring and security.
• Drive performance enhancements ensuring frontend systems scale with Datadog's global customer base.

Qualifications & Requirements

• 6+ years experience building large-scale frontend systems, preferably in platform or developer experience roles at scale-up SaaS companies.
• Expertise in JavaScript/TypeScript and modern frameworks like React, with deep knowledge of component architecture.
• Advanced proficiency with frontend build tools, bundlers (Rspack, esbuild, Lage), and CI/CD workflows for high-velocity development.
• Proven experience building internal tools, component libraries, or design systems for large engineering organizations.
• Leadership skills to lead cross-team initiatives and drive adoption of platform standards company-wide.
• Passion for reliability, performance optimization, and crafting exceptional developer experiences in cloud environments.
