Key Responsibilities at Datadog

• Design and implement prompts, evaluations, and agent tools for code interactions within the Datadog MCP server
• Productionize LLM systems and integrate them seamlessly into customer IDE environments like Cursor and VSCode
• Conceptualize and build innovative user interfaces for Datadog's Cursor/VSCode extensions
• Rapidly prototype AI experiences, gather user feedback, iterate, and ship production-ready features
• Stay ahead of LLM research in prompt optimization, autonomous agents, and AI-assisted code editing
• Partner with Datadog product teams to productionize their developer-focused MCP tooling
• Collaborate with the Live Debugger team to create agentic production debugging experiences
• Deliver the vision of 'one-click reproduction' for resolving production errors
• Maintain code simplicity, performance, and scalability across distributed AI systems

Qualifications & Requirements

To succeed as a Senior LLM Engineer at Datadog, you'll need:

• 5+ years backend engineering experience with a focus on code simplicity and performance
• Shipped production LLM software with real-world impact on developer workflows
• Deep passion for Generative AI and its transformative potential for software engineering
• Hands-on experience with Large Language Models, large-scale systems, or machine learning infrastructure
• Proven developer tools experience (IDEs, static analysis tools, compilers, extensions)
• Exceptional communication skills as a community ambassador driving pragmatic technical solutions
• BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience

Salary & Benefits
