Join Datadog's Synthetics Platform team as a Senior Software Engineer in Bordeaux or Grenoble, France. This elite team serves as the critical interface between Synthetics product engineers and Datadog's world-class infrastructure operations. With Synthetics services already deployed across 30+ global regions spanning 3 major cloud providers, you'll be at the forefront of scaling observability infrastructure that powers enterprise cloud monitoring worldwide.

The Synthetics Platform team owns the deployment of new testing locations, builds sophisticated deployment tooling, and provides expert guidance on cloud-native service configuration. You'll work with cutting-edge technologies including Kubernetes, Terraform, Postgres, Redis, Bazel, Temporal, Cassandra, Kafka, and advanced build systems to deliver zero-downtime migrations across complex multi-cloud environments.

Key Responsibilities at Datadog

• Deploy and operationalize new Synthetics testing locations across 30+ global regions and multiple cloud providers
• Develop comprehensive tooling to manage, monitor, and scale existing Synthetics infrastructure deployments
• Design, plan, and execute fully automated, zero-downtime migrations across diverse cloud environments
• Shape and implement next-generation infrastructure technologies serving the Synthetics product ecosystem
• Serve as the technical expert guiding Synthetics developers on optimal architecture decisions and service configurations
• Build scalable automation using Bazel, Temporal workflows, and Kubernetes operators for reliable software delivery
• Optimize distributed data stores including Postgres, Redis, Cassandra, and Kafka for high-throughput synthetics testing
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product engineering and infrastructure teams to expand Datadog's global footprint
• Drive production excellence through rigorous automation, configuration management, and container orchestration practices

Qualifications & Requirements

To succeed in this role, you'll bring:

• 5+ years of software engineering experience, with proven success in distributed systems and cloud infrastructure
• Strong programming proficiency in Go or Python, with production-grade code ownership
• Deep hands-on experience operating production environments across AWS, GCP, Azure or similar cloud platforms
• Production expertise with distributed technologies: Kubernetes, Cassandra, Postgres, Kafka, Redis
• Mastery of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and automation-first methodologies
• Exceptional diagnostic skills – you pursue production issues with relentless attention to correctness and efficiency
