The Senior Specialist, Payroll position at Cardinal Health offers a dynamic opportunity to manage all aspects of Canadian payroll processing. Based in US-Nationwide-FIELD, United States of America, this role demands expertise in regulations, payroll taxes, and garnishments while delivering exceptional customer service in a fast-paced team environment. As a key player in our HR function, you'll ensure accurate, timely payroll for employees, leveraging advanced systems like ADP WFN, Workday, and ServiceNOW. In this senior-level role, you'll act as a subject matter expert for specialized payroll areas, handling complex transactions across multiple platforms. Responsibilities include interacting with third-party providers, performing control framework assessments, and conducting data integrity audits. You'll resolve escalated HR inquiries, maintain living work instructions (LWI's) and call scripts, and participate in training initiatives. Accountability for service level agreements and business performance goals is central, alongside special projects to enhance payroll operations. Your work ensures compliance and accuracy in a high-volume environment.
Daily tasks involve processing payroll with precision, calculating taxes, deductions, and garnishments per Canadian regulations. You'll troubleshoot issues using expert knowledge and collaborate with teams for seamless execution.
Conduct regular audits to verify data integrity, prepare reports for regulatory needs, and address employee/supervisor queries efficiently.
Candidates should hold a Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience. Preferred qualifications include 2+ years in payroll, Fundamental Payroll Certification, and Canadian Payroll Processing experience. Proficiency with ADP WFN is essential. At this level, you'll apply working knowledge to moderate-scope projects, identify solutions to technical problems, and exercise judgment within defined parameters. General guidance is provided, with work reviewed for accuracy and reasoning. Experience with ServiceNOW, Workday, and third-party payroll vendors is highly valued.
