The Senior Specialist, Retail Brand/Experience Japan position is a strategic role within Nike's Integrated Retail Marketing Japan team. Reporting to the Senior Manager Retail Brand/Experience, you'll lead the planning and execution of seasonal 'marketing in stores' initiatives. This includes bringing seasonal stories to life in Nike Direct Stores (NSO/NSP/NVS), managing in-store signage production, and collaborating with Visual Merchandising & Styling (VMS) teams. You'll partner with internal teams like Brand Management, Digital Marketing, and Operations, as well as external agencies and vendors, to sharpen the in-store consumer journey and boost brand elements. Success is measured by growth in brand strength, consumer engagement, and Nike Direct Stores performance. This full-time role in Tokyo requires domestic travel seasonally and occasional international trips.
Lead 4-5 seasonal directions per year for Nike Direct Stores, including strategic planning and execution for new store openings. Craft plans that align with Nike's brand playbook to deliver immersive retail experiences.
Manage vendors and stores to produce seasonal signage and graphics within budget, working closely with VMS to ensure high-impact visuals that enhance the consumer journey.
Partner with Nike Direct inline stores and Value stores to execute cross-channel projects and seasonal stories, fostering seamless brand storytelling across retail formats.
Support the Retail Brand Lead in developing seasonal and non-seasonal marketing plans, providing briefing and input for execution across Japan.
Contribute to in-store signage for evergreen products, collections, promotions, and sale events, driving consistent brand presence and consumer connection.
Nike seeks a visionary doer with 3-5 years of experience in retail marketing or brand marketing. A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent is required. Candidates must demonstrate high interest or background in sport, youth culture, sneakers, fashion, and streetwear. Strong project management and analytical skills are essential for gathering business and consumer insights. Excellent oral and written communication in English and Japanese is mandatory. Domestic travel to agency partners and stores is required seasonally, with potential international travel 1-2 times per year.
