Key Responsibilities at MongoDB

• Process Ownership: Own and continuously improve engineering processes across the department, from ideation to release, ensuring smooth operations for our new AI platform team.
• Cross-Functional Facilitation: Work closely with research, product management, product engineering, and design peers distributed globally to define service evolution and resolve issues proactively.
• Tool Stewardship: Manage and optimize tools powering engineering operations, including wiki systems, Jira, project management software, and retrospective tools.
• Delivery Tracking: Track engineering deliverables, release tasks, and key milestones while maintaining a strategic view of software engineering processes.
• Issue Resolution: Identify potential roadblocks early and facilitate swift resolution across time zones and functions.
• Process Optimization: Gather pain points from engineers and stakeholders, then implement data-driven improvements for faster, more efficient releases.
• Technical Facilitation: Apply engineering judgement to guide discussions, flesh out technical details, and ensure successful delivery of complex AI platform features.
• Agile Leadership: Champion Agile/Scrum best practices while scripting automation solutions in Python, Google Apps Script, and Slack integrations.
• Stakeholder Communication: Provide clear, concise updates to engineering leadership, product managers, and executives on project status and risks.

Qualifications & Requirements

To succeed as a Senior Technical Program Manager at MongoDB, you need:

• 4+ years in engineering organizations managing high-scale cloud/multi-cloud projects in program/project management or development roles.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Statistics, or equivalent practical experience.
• Demonstrated expertise in Agile/Scrum methodologies and project tracking tools (Jira, Rally, MS Project).
• Proven track record delivering complex, cross-functional projects with distributed teams.
