Position Summary
Join Sonoco as a Set Up Operator - 1st Shift in Frenchtown, NJ. Work 7am-3pm, earning $23.50/hour in a dynamic manufacturing environment. Prepare and maintain production equipment, perform setups, quality checks, and troubleshooting to ensure efficient, safe operations. Key Responsibilities
- Gather, bundle, stack fiberboard partitions, check glue, and fill hoppers from conveyors.
- Conduct thorough quality checks on products to maintain high standards.
- Empty heavy trash barrels (up to 70 lbs) into dumpsters and operate shredder for scrap.
- Palletize bundles (8-40 lbs), make gum bands, repair parts, and perform general cleanup.
- Operate tools like brooms, utility knives, bundler machines, tape guns, and air hoses.
- Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work area at all times.
Required Qualifications
- Proficient with ruler/tape measure; accurate counting and attention to detail.
- Mechanical aptitude, quick learner, adaptable to change, and strong team player.
- Ability to lift 40-70 lbs, communicate effectively, and demonstrate reliability.
- Knowledge of or ability to learn safety rules, operating procedures.
- Prior manufacturing experience preferred; must maintain excellent attendance.
