The Business Intelligence & Reporting role is part of Operations and operates with a given Area of Responsibility (AoR). The Business Intelligence & Reporting position is responsible for taking the data that and mining it to achieve valuable insights. These insights are then used to inform critical business decisions and for onward transmission to clients.

Qualifications

• • Degree, preferably in IT, Computing or Project management
  • Minimum 5 years working experience in an analytical or datamining position preferable in mining sector.
  • Advance MS Excel skills
  • Proficiency in a RDMS with proven experience
  • Experience creating packages and procedures using PL/SQL
  • Experience with multi- dimensional data sources
  • SQL and ODBC proficiency.

  • Good written and oral communication skills in both English and Portuguese;
  • Ability to act independently and to coordinate several activities simultaneously.
  • Ability to interact with all levels of management.
  • Being a team player and working with project managers to meet deadlines and support project budgets.

Responsabilities

• • Identify, automate, and validate the extraction of new metrics from a variety of data sources for use in upcoming analyses and reports by working closely with the business operations team.
  • Create BI reporting tools and using any significant BI applications.
  • Creating and maintaining reports based on various potential data sources.
  • Create comprehensive dashboard using different sources.
  • Taking part in reporting and application testing.
  • Examine data-processing workflows and deal with data inconsistencies.
  • Writing data collection and processing procedures.
  • Ensuring that data is being correctly gathered, stored, and analyzed.
  • Reporting data findings to management.
  • Continually monitor data collection.
  • Develop methodologies to improve data analysis.
  • Analyze data for market trends and patterns.
  • Generate weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual or adhoc reports with market trends per agreed format and frequency for onward communication to clients.
  • Design new data collection models and templates to better collect information.
  • Perform data profiling to identify anomalies.
  • Develop protocol on how to best filter and variance.
  • Adopt, at all times, a safe behavior by exercising due regard for the health and safety of SGS employees in line with SGS policies and procedures.
