Description

You will support the SGS ESG business by providing consultancy services to our key clients in improving their ESG compliance. You may explain assessment results to companies that have been assessed by SGS on their sustainability performance, by presenting our methodology, giving contextual information around their performance, and maintaining constructive discussions with customers. You will need to quickly master the ESG team concepts, processes and guidelines so that you can become an external facing champion for the SGS ESG Services.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement strategies to ensure profitable growth of Sustainability related / ESG services offering in line with growth global strategy of Knowledge business in India.
  2. Develop business plans and strategies to grow new contracts.
  3. Network with key players and maintain an understanding of external market developments to ensure SGS becomes the service provider of choice to a greater share of the market.
  4. Identify and develop new business opportunities.
  5. Map out business / marketing plans for sustainability related / ESG Services and new markets.
  6. Manage marketing and promotional activities.
  7. Establish competitor analysis and understanding of market share.
  8. Train and manage the sales team in meeting sales targets.
  9. Provide sales staff with necessary technical support on specific product as appropriate.
  10. Be abreast of new trends and consolidate market intelligence to adjust strategy and provide the related information to the management.
  11. React upon business opportunities forwarded by Operations and inform them on progress.
  12. Forward potential opportunities to other Business Lines as appropriate.
  13. At all times, adopt a safe behavior by exercising due regard for the health and safety of SGS employees and clients, in line with SGS policies and procedures.
  14. At all times, comply with SGS Code of Integrity and Professional Conduct

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of successful customer service experience or consulting experience in a Sustainability/ESG consulting or rating firm, with advanced understanding of sustainability standards and frameworks (GRI, SASB, TCFD…)
  • Academic qualification into Environmental Science preferred. 
  • Phenomenal communication, presentation and public speaking skills. Ability to explain complex concepts in a synthetic way, adapted to customers’ expectations.
  • Excellent sense of customer service and ability to handle customer complaints while supporting internal processes integrity and fairness.  
  • Strong problem solving skills; ability to offer resolutions to conflictual situations.
