SGS INSPIRE is a data and information service that provides expertise in the areas of fuel quality, vehicle emissions, energy and transportation. Our in-depth analysis of legislation and market in combination with fuel sampling data provides a detailed overview about fuel quality worldwideWorking as a member of our Analysis team, you will conduct research on developments within the fuel sectors and contribute to the production of reports. 

More specifically, you will:

  • Monitor, research, analyze and report on developments within the following sectors: conventional fuels, alternative and transition fuels, aviation fuels, marine fuels and vehicle data as it pertains to emissions and ESG;
  • Perform technical analysis of fuel quality data, e.g. analyze trends in manganese content in gasoline, biodiesel content in diesel;
  • Respond promptly to client requests concerning fuel quality, evolution and contamination;
  • Maintain and update reports on various industry topics;
  • Be the technical lead in scope research projects and contribute to the team’s larger projects as a subject matter expert;
  • Research and stay informed about the latest developments, within the defined scope of coverage, in relation to energy for transport and generate new ideas for reports, news or studies;
  • Identify new potential clients;
  • Assist with renewable energy demand modelling.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 years working in the energy or transportation sector;
  • Excellent knowledge of English, Russian and another European language is a requirement;
  • Understanding of global and European developments in energy sector, especially in relation to transport fuels, policy and legislation;
  • Familiar with general European legislation including non EU policy such as Russian initiatives regarding renewable energy, energy transition, fuel quality and alternative fuels, climate change and environmental limits;
  • Able to understand the chemical composition of fuels and compare it with legislated quality requirements;
  • Be able to analyze large datasets.

We are able to base this position in the following locations: Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia and Bulgaria.
