Position Summary
As Shift Supervisor at our Chatham, NY facility, reporting to the Plant Production Manager, you'll oversee safety, quality, continuous improvement, material handling, and cost performance on swing or third shift (swing: alternating 6AM-3PM/2PM-11PM; third: 10PM-7AM, M-F with occasional weekends). This salaried role demands strong leadership for hiring, development, discipline, and plant communications in a non-union manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Champion safety action plans and promote team safety.
- Drive quality initiatives aligned with customer specs and KPIs.
- Coordinate resources, manage Oracle transactions, and track time/attendance.
- Meet/exceed machine and plant performance metrics.
- Lead continuous improvement with SPS toolbox and employee engagement.
- Handle HR concerns, grievances, discipline, and personnel reviews.
- Interface across manufacturing disciplines for priority execution.
Required Qualifications
- 2-year degree (Plastics Processing preferred).
- 3-5 years manufacturing experience with 3-5 years supervisory/leadership roles.
- Excellent organization, communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
- Mechanically competent, self-motivated, Windows/MS Office literate.
- Available for night shifts; prior non-union supervisory experience.
