Position Summary

Join Sonoco as a Shipper/Receiver I in Portland, IN, on the 3rd shift (11:00pm - 7:30am). Earn $20.80/hour plus $2.00/hour shift differential while reporting to the Warehouse Team Leader. You'll move product from the production line to the warehouse quickly and safely in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Excellent attendance, a keen eye for defects, and strong organizational skills are essential for team success.

Key Responsibilities

• Above all, prioritize safety as #1.
• Collaborate closely with other departments and teams.
• Maintain high regard for 5S standards.
• Think on your feet to troubleshoot problems.
• Monitor and report quality of manufactured product.
• Consistently move product to designated pack outs.
• Keep work area safe, clean, and organized.
• Supply materials to packing areas and assist with inventory.
• Accurately complete paperwork and verify inventory levels.

Required Qualifications

• Manufacturing and warehouse experience preferred.
• “Get it done” attitude with urgency to resolve tasks.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, self-motivated, and multitask.
• Push, pull, lift, and carry up to 49 lbs.
• Valid forklift license and efficient driving skills.
• Ability to read shop orders, production documents, and instructions.
• Work overtime as needed with good attendance.
