Role Overview

As Site Operations Manager at our Gumtree remanufacturing facility in Beresfield, NSW, you will lead daily operations in a highly regulated medical device environment. This critical leadership role ensures safe, efficient, and compliant processing of used medical devices, driving sustainability in healthcare. You will oversee teams, monitor key performance indicators, and champion continuous improvement initiatives. With a focus on EHS strategies, regulatory adherence to TGA, FDA, and ISO 13485, and collaboration across departments, this position offers a platform to make a tangible impact on healthcare operations and environmental responsibility.

Key Responsibilities

Your role will encompass a broad range of operational, leadership, and compliance duties:

• Manage department operations, supervising professional employees, frontline supervisors, and business support staff.
• Ensure day-to-day operations adhere to TGA, FDA, ISO 13485, and GMP standards.
• Lead and develop floor staff with training in infection control, device handling, and regulatory guidelines.
• Oversee intake, decontamination, inspection, remanufacturing, ensuring full traceability and documentation.
• Monitor production KPIs including throughput, yield, rework rates, and compliance metrics.
• Collaborate with Quality Assurance, Regulatory Affairs, and Engineering to resolve non-conformances.
• Drive Lean and Six Sigma initiatives for enhanced safety, efficiency, and quality.
• Maintain compliance in waste handling, batch records, and device history records.
• Serve as local point of contact for Global Security, managing access control, business continuity, and incident reporting.

Security and EHS Focus

You will implement EHS strategies to mitigate risks, act as Business Continuity coordinator, liaise with local police and FAST teams, and conduct annual security assessments, ensuring the site's resilience and safety.

Qualifications & Requirements

To succeed in this role, candidates should demonstrate:

• A diploma or degree in Engineering, Life Sciences, Manufacturing, or a related field.
• 8-12 years of experience in regulated manufacturing (medical devices, pharma, or biotech), including at least 1 year in management.
• Strong knowledge of ISO 13485, 21 CFR Part 820, GMP, and environmental regulations for medical waste.
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or higher certification.
• Experience with remanufactured medical devices, aseptic techniques, ERP systems, and eQMS.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills; multinational corporate experience a plus.

Primary location is Beresfield, NSW, with occasional travel to North Sydney office.
