Role Overview

Join MongoDB's Site Reliability Engineer (Senior or Staff), Infrastructure Security team as a hands-on technical leader securing our cloud-based infrastructure. MongoDB, the modern developer data platform powering the AI era, needs experienced SREs to protect our globally distributed MongoDB Atlas across AWS, Azure, and GCP. This remote role in Ontario and Quebec, Canada, combines deep technical security implementation with team mentorship.

Our InfraSec SRE team builds essential security infrastructure, implements controls, and ensures our NoSQL database platform maintains the highest security posture. You'll tackle large-scale challenges in cloud security design, automation, monitoring, and tooling while collaborating across engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities at MongoDB

• Lead the design and deployment of security solutions for multi-cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, and GCP.
• Implement comprehensive network security, compute security, identity management (IAM), and cloud security posture management (CSPM).
• Build automated solutions for real-time security monitoring, logging, and alerting using native cloud services.
• Develop runtime security monitoring and anomaly detection systems with third-party integrations.
• Evaluate, implement, and manage cloud-native security tools for endpoint security and IAM.
• Automate security configurations and processes using Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, and Golang.
• Mentor a small team of SREs while driving personal growth and team success.
• Collaborate closely with engineering teams to reinforce MongoDB Atlas security posture.
• Lead projects in runtime scanning, security observability, and CSPM at enterprise scale.

Qualifications & Requirements

To succeed as a Staff SRE in Infrastructure Security at MongoDB, you need:

• 7+ years experience in SRE, infrastructure engineering, or similar roles with strong security focus; ideally 2+ years senior/staff level.
• Comprehensive cloud security knowledge from OS networking to provider configurations.
• Expertise in AWS, Azure, or GCP including IAM, VPC networking, security groups, GuardDuty, Security Hub, CloudTrail.
• Programming proficiency (Golang preferred) and IaC mastery with Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible.
• Deep understanding of Linux fundamentals and networking in complex distributed systems.
• Proven leadership skills to explain complex security to diverse audiences and mentor teams.
