Join our innovative People Team as a Business Intelligence Engineer, Level 4, where you'll be a trusted partner blending technical expertise, business acumen, and analytic rigor to drive data-informed decisions fueling our creative culture and AR innovation. In this role, you'll translate People Team business questions—such as talent acquisition for AR engineers or engagement in our camera-first creative environment—into efficient analytics plans, executing high-quality statistical analyses and building intuitive data tools like Visier dashboards and Looker visualizations. You'll design robust ETL pipelines and data models ensuring integrity for self-service HR insights, while partnering closely with engineering, People Science, business leaders, and HR to uncover insights that advance Snap's goals, from optimizing teams behind Snapchat Lenses to scaling Spectacles development. You'll manage your workflow with autonomy, prioritizing high-impact projects, mentoring juniors to cultivate a learning culture, and communicating complex findings accessibly to all audiences. What You'll Do

  • Translate business questions from the People Team into actionable analytics plans and execute them from start to finish
  • Conduct high-quality statistical analyses (e.g., regression, time series, hypothesis testing) to derive insights on talent, engagement, and performance
  • Develop and implement data pipelines and end-user tools (e.g., Visier, Looker, Posit) empowering HR partners to self-serve data
  • Ensure data quality and integrity across acquisition, processing, and analysis stages
  • Design, implement, and document efficient data querying and modeling infrastructure for People metrics
  • Build interactive dashboards and visualizations tracking AR innovation talent pipelines and creative culture health
  • Manage workflow: prioritize high-impact projects, triage requests, deliver on time, and communicate timelines to partners
  • Mentor junior team members to foster learning and growth in data-driven People strategies
  • Partner with engineering, People Science, and HR leaders to translate analytics into actions advancing Snap's camera and AR goals
  • Identify key insights on workforce dynamics supporting Snapchat's visual messaging and Spectacles AR advancements

Minimum Qualifications

  • BS/BA degree in a technical field (e.g., computer science, math) or research-based social science (e.g., public policy, sociology)
  • 5+ years experience in SQL or similar query languages
  • 5+ years development experience in at least one object-oriented or scripting language (Python preferred)
  • 3+ years experience in using data analysis and visualization tools such as R, Python libraries (e.g., matplotlib, seaborn), Tableau, or Looker
  • Experience independently designing research plans for business questions, including hypotheses, methods, analysis, and communication
  • Experience with data modeling, warehousing, and building ETL pipelines

Preferred Qualifications

  • MA/MS in a technical and/or research-based field (e.g., computer science, public policy)
  • Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform and its data offerings such as BigQuery
  • Experience working in an agile development environment with cross-functional teams and Git
  • “Visier Analytic Model Developer” or “Visier Certified Developer” credential

Compensation

$130,000-$196,000 annually
