About the Role

Snap Inc is a camera company believing that the camera + AI will help people share the moment in 3D and recommended ways. We are seeking a Computer Vision Engineer, Sensor Fusion for our Spectacles team in Vienna to push the boundaries of AR wearables. Spectacles, powered by Snap OS, are standalone, see-through AR glasses revolutionizing play, learning, and work. You'll solve industry-toughest challenges in tracking, SLAM, and sensor fusion, collaborating globally to innovate next-gen AR experiences that bring people closer in the real world. In this role, you'll contribute to state-of-the-art algorithms, develop novel AR features, and integrate CV solutions leveraging Spectacles' advanced sensors. Working from our Vienna office under our 'Default Together' policy (4+ days/week), you'll design real-time systems for camera-driven AR, optimize for wearables, and field-test in dynamic environments. What You'll Do

  • Contribute to state-of-the-art tracking and SLAM algorithms for Spectacles AR glasses
  • Develop novel features for the next generation of Snap's AR products
  • Design, implement, and integrate existing and new Computer Vision and Augmented Reality algorithms
  • Research and leverage new techniques using sensors on current and future Spectacles hardware
  • Collaborate closely with global Snap hardware and software teams from the Vienna office
  • Optimize algorithms for real-time performance on wearable AR devices
  • Conduct field testing and validation of CV systems in dynamic real-world environments
  • Push boundaries of camera-based AR innovation to enhance user experiences in Spectacles
  • Integrate sensor fusion techniques to improve tracking accuracy and robustness
  • Prototype and iterate on CV solutions to solve toughest challenges in wearable tech

Minimum Qualifications

  • BSc/MSc in a relevant engineering discipline (e.g., computer science, mechatronics, mathematics, robotics) with 2+ years of relevant industry experience
  • Experience with SLAM or visual tracking systems
  • 2+ years of programming experience in C++
  • Solid foundation in Computer Vision including camera models, multi-view geometry, and transformations
  • Solid math background with understanding of estimation theory, statistics, and linear algebra
  • Outstanding problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and affinity for field testing
  • Great communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters or additional industrial experience in a relevant engineering discipline
  • Experience with non-linear optimization, Kalman filtering, and state-estimation
  • Experience with sensor types including IMU, magnetometer, GNSS, or pressure sensors
