About Snap Inc

Snap Inc is a technology company. We believe the camera presents the greatest opportunity to improve the way people live and communicate. Snap contributes to human progress by empowering people to express themselves, live in the moment, learn about the world, and have fun together.

About the Role

Snap Inc is a technology company revolutionizing how people live and communicate through the power of the camera. We empower creativity with Snapchat's visual messaging, Lens Studio's AR platform, and Spectacles—our fifth-generation standalone AR glasses powered by Snap OS. The Spectacles team is at the forefront of AR innovation, blending cutting-edge camera technology with see-through displays to enhance play, learning, and work in the real world. Join our creative culture where bold ideas turn into immersive experiences, and we're seeking a Level 4 Electrical Engineer to drive hardware excellence in this exciting domain. As an Electrical Engineer on the Spectacles team, you'll own the full lifecycle of board design, from schematic capture and component selection for complex SOCs, PMICs, wireless ICs, and sensors tailored to low-power AR wearables, to stackup definition and final deliverables. You'll lead technical design reviews, supervise PCB, flex, and rigid-flex layouts, and debug intricate issues like signal integrity, EMI, and power states in collaboration with mechanical, software, RF, thermal, and industrial design teams. Your work will directly enable seamless camera-driven AR features that bring people closer together. You'll test and validate board- and system-level designs using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and thermal chambers, author comprehensive test documentation, and prototype groundbreaking concepts. Expect to support onsite builds at contract manufacturers and travel internationally up to 20%. With strong fundamentals in battery systems, high-speed interfaces (USB, I2C, MIPI, PCIe), and EMI mitigation, you'll thrive in our fast-paced, innovative environment fueled by diverse voices and a passion for fun, real-time experiences. Snap's 'Default Together' policy means collaborating in-office 4+ days a week to accelerate our AR vision.

  • Collaborate closely with mechanical, software, RF, thermal and industrial design teams to integrate camera and AR features
  • Author clear and comprehensive electrical test documentation for Spectacles prototypes
  • Develop electronic prototypes for new AR product concepts enhancing camera-based interactions
  • Support development builds onsite at external contract manufacturers
