Evaluate technical tradeoffs, mentor on best practices, and hire top talent to build systems that support Snapchat's high-availability ads infrastructure. Your work will directly impact how advertisers connect with users through immersive Lenses and Spectacles, driving revenue while upholding Snap's commitment to authentic, fun interactions in a visually-driven world. What You'll Do

  • Manage and mentor a team of engineers in a fast-paced, quick-to-market environment at Snap Inc.
  • Set the strategy, build a roadmap, create measurable goals, and lead your team to deliver impactful features for Snapchat's ads ecosystem.
  • Spearhead the optimization of auction dynamics to expertly balance competing goals in ads delivery, enhancing AR-powered ad experiences.
  • Collaborate with Product, Operations, Data Science, and Engineering teams, as well as executive stakeholders, to translate business needs into algorithmic requirements.
  • Guide the development, testing, and implementation of advanced ranking and pricing models for Snap's innovative ad marketplace.
  • Evaluate technical tradeoffs of major decisions and serve as a strong technical mentor to foster engineering excellence.
  • Hire, grow, and retain high-performing team members who thrive in Snap's creative, camera-first culture.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant technical field such as computer science or equivalent years of practical work experience
  • 8+ years of post-Bachelor’s software development experience; or a Master’s degree in a technical field + 7+ years of post-grad software development experience; or a PhD in a related technical field + 4+ years of post-grad software development experience
  • 1+ years of experience as a manager for an engineering team
  • Experience working on recommendation systems
  • Background in building high availability and mission critical systems
  • Experience leading and executing large, complex technical initiatives
  • Experience with two-sided markets

Preferred Qualifications

  • Track record of delivery in rapidly changing, highly collaborative, multi-stakeholder environments
