The Finance & Accounting team is essential to this mission, partnering with business leaders to deliver financial insights, operational excellence, and compliance that keep Snap at the forefront of AR and camera tech. We’re seeking a Manager, Accounting to lead accounting operations for our Spectacles hardware business, building costing and revenue frameworks from the ground up in a creative, fast-paced culture. In this role, you’ll assemble and lead a high-performing team at the intersection of accounting, hardware engineering, and supply chain operations. You’ll pioneer standard costing structures, revenue recognition models compliant with global standards, and scalable ERP integrations tailored to Spectacles’ AR production. Collaborating closely with FP&A, Supply Chain, and Engineering, you’ll drive the monthly close, automate processes, manage inventory assets, and ensure SOX-compliant controls— all while fueling Snap’s innovative hardware roadmap. Thriving in Snap’s dynamic environment requires a strategic mindset, deep technical expertise, and the ability to communicate financial complexities to creative cross-functional partners. You’ll champion continuous improvements in reporting and risk management, supporting audits and preparing materials that highlight our AR impact. What You'll Do

  • Build and lead a team responsible for inventory costing, COGS analysis, and product revenue recognition for Spectacles AR hardware
  • Partner cross-functionally with FP&A, Supply Chain, and Engineering to support operational scalability and determine accounting for new AR products
  • Develop and maintain standard costing structures, including BOM costing, overhead absorption, and variance reporting
  • Build the revenue recognition framework by identifying performance obligations, transaction prices, and timing in accordance with accounting standards
  • Drive the monthly and quarterly close process, including journal entries, system integrations, reconciliations, and manufacturing cost analysis
  • Lead the development of inventory and revenue accounting systems tailored for Snap's hardware business
  • Optimize ERP and sub-ledger integrations to automate processes and enhance scalability
  • Maintain and track manufacturing equipment and production assets for Spectacles
  • Provide support for annual financial statement audits and periodic internal audits
  • Prepare materials for internal and external reporting on a monthly and quarterly basis
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in cost accounting and operational reporting
  • Identify risks, implement controls, and maintain SOX-compliant process documentation

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or equivalent years of experience
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including managing cost or revenue accounting teams
  • Background in hardware manufacturing, consumer electronics, or related tech sectors
  • Experience developing or implementing inventory management systems and how they integrate with ERP platforms
  • Demonstrated experience building and managing accounting teams for product-based businesses
  • Deep understanding of inventory and revenue accounting under US GAAP and/or IFRS
  • Expertise with ERP and inventory management systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications

  • ACA/ACCA/CPA (or equivalent) certification
  • Experience implementing or enhancing ERP systems
  • Hands-on experience in AR hardware or camera technology sectors
  • Proven track record in scaling accounting operations for innovative tech products
  • Familiarity with SOX compliance and internal audit processes
