As a Manager, Data Science, Content in the Growth department, you'll lead a team driving viewer experiences in our vibrant content community, optimizing ranking algorithms, and elevating content supply for Snapchat's camera-first world. You'll mentor high-performing Data Scientists, fostering an inclusive, fun environment aligned with Snap's creative culture. Collaborate with product, engineering, and research partners to analyze data from AR Lenses, ephemeral Snaps, and Spectacles interactions, uncovering opportunities to enhance engagement and growth. Conduct rigorous analyses, test hypotheses, and deliver insights share-outs that shape strategy, ensuring the consumer voice powers our AR innovations. With expertise in statistical methods, ML, and data pipelines, you'll execute a roadmap of continuous improvement, reporting, and optimization. Provide strategic guidance to your team and stakeholders, balancing rigor with speed in our 'default together' environment. What You'll Do

  • Lead and mentor a team of high-performing Data Scientists focused on Snap's content community, enhancing viewer experiences through camera-driven innovations and AR content
  • Build and manage a team of data scientists to execute on priorities that improve content ranking algorithms and boost content supply efficiency & quality on Snapchat
  • Establish a positive, inclusive, and fun team environment where every member thrives in Snap's creative culture
  • Partner cross-functionally with product managers, engineers, and researchers to solve complex problems and identify new opportunities in AR lenses and visual storytelling
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of massive datasets from Snapchat's camera features, testing hypotheses and translating insights into actionable strategies for content growth
  • Lead development and implementation of regular insights share-outs that amplify the consumer voice in Snap's AR and content ecosystem
  • Deliver on data science and analytics roadmap, including continuous improvement, accurate reporting, and measurement for content performance
  • Provide strategic direction, project clarity, and methodological consultation to drive results individually and through your team
  • Leverage data to optimize viewer engagement with Snapchat's ephemeral content, Lenses, and Spectacles-powered AR experiences
  • Balance practical business needs with scientific rigor to accelerate decision-making in Snap's fast-paced, innovative environment

Minimum Qualifications

  • BS/BA degree in statistics, mathematics, economics, computer science, engineering or related field or equivalent years of experience
  • 7+ years of post-Bachelor’s experience in quantitative analysis & data science or a related field; or a Master’s degree in a technical field + 6+ years of post-grad experience; or a PhD in a relevant technical field + 3+ years of post-grad experience
  • 3+ years experience in a leadership role within a data organization
  • Understanding of statistical analysis, experience with packages such as R, MATLAB, Stata, etc.
  • Working knowledge of predictive modeling, machine learning, and experimentation/causal inference methods
  • Expertise in SQL and familiarity with Python
  • Excellent communication skills, with high attention to detail
  • Ability to initiate and drive projects to completion with minimal guidance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in a quantitative field (Economics, Computer Science, Physics)
  • Experience forming partnerships with cross-functional leaders in engineering, product, design, research, etc.
  • Proven track record in transforming data into meaningful insights and opportunities to drive growth and performance
  • Experience in a product-focused role at a social media, online advertising, digital media and/or mobile technology company
  • Expertise in the data workflow and pipeline and leading teams responsible for data capture, measurement, and optimization
