About the Role

Our Spectacles team is at the forefront of standalone, see-through AR glasses running Snap OS, enabling immersive experiences for playing, learning, and working together. As Manager, Production Operations in the Spectacles department, you'll lead on-site production teams to bring these cutting-edge AR innovations to life, ensuring seamless scalability from prototype to mass production in our creative, fast-paced environment. In this role, you'll oversee multiple shifts of the Production and Production Engineering teams, holding them accountable for MRL/TRL-ready processes that align with Snap's goals for high-quality AR hardware. You'll collaborate cross-functionally with Finance, IT, and engineering stakeholders to optimize MES/MRP systems, set KPIs for uptime and delivery, and prepare facilities for volume ramps and NPI. Championing safety, Six Sigma, and AI-driven efficiencies, you'll mentor leaders to foster continuous improvement and proactive problem-solving, all while advancing Snap's mission to empower authentic expression through camera and AR tech. What You'll Do

  • Oversee and manage the Production team on site across multiple shifts and the Production Engineering Team, ensuring alignment with Snap’s operational goals for Spectacles AR innovation
  • Ensure processes transferring to Production meet MRL/TRL readiness for seamless implementation into high-volume AR glasses manufacturing
  • Hold Process and Manufacturing teams accountable for delivering mass production-ready processes
  • Collaborate with Finance, IT, and Snap stakeholders to ensure MES/MRP systems are scalable for Spectacles production ramps
  • Lead and mentor the Production Manager and Production Engineering Team to achieve mass production readiness for next-gen AR hardware
  • Set clear objectives and KPIs focused on system uptime, project delivery, budget adherence, and AR product quality
  • Foster a culture of safety, continuous improvement, and proactive problem-solving within the production operations team
  • Prepare the facility for production volume increases and New Product Introductions (NPI) for Spectacles
  • Partner with manufacturing and engineering to develop long-term site infrastructure roadmap supporting AR innovation
  • Guarantee utility capacity, facility layouts, and safety systems support production ramp-up for camera-enabled AR glasses
  • Implement Six Sigma and continuous improvement methodologies to optimize processes and drive efficiency
  • Explore and integrate AI for predictive maintenance, quality control, and operational intelligence in Spectacles production

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent
  • 5+ years of experience working in operations in a Manufacturing environment
  • Proven experience managing a multidiscipline team of greater than 20 people
  • Experience with in-house manufacturing operations
  • Familiarity with MES/MRP systems
  • Knowledge of manufacturing readiness levels (MRL/TRL)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in high-tech consumer electronics manufacturing, especially AR or camera hardware
  • Background in scaling production for innovative AR products like Spectacles
  • Prior exposure to AI-driven manufacturing solutions
  • Experience implementing Six Sigma or Lean methodologies in dynamic environments
