Join our IT Network Engineering team as a Network Engineer and be at the heart of the networks powering Snap’s innovative AR experiences and global creative community. You’ll design, deploy, and operate resilient infrastructure that keeps Snapchat’s real-time camera features and AR Lenses running seamlessly for millions of users. In this role, you’ll evolve Snap’s enterprise and data center networks, leveraging cutting-edge technologies and AI tools to ensure high availability and performance. From automating deployments with Python and Terraform to implementing Zero Trust security for our cloud and on-prem environments, you’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business growth and rapid innovation in camera and AR technologies. Your expertise in BGP, OSPF, wireless design, and advanced troubleshooting will drive scalable solutions aligned with Snap’s creative roadmap, while mentoring peers fosters our collaborative culture. What You'll Do

  • Design, develop, deploy, and operate Snap’s global enterprise network infrastructure to support innovative camera and AR experiences
  • Evolve, monitor, maintain, and operate Snap’s existing enterprise network infrastructure ensuring seamless connectivity for Snapchat users worldwide
  • Design, develop, deploy, and operate Snap’s Data Center network infrastructure powering Lens Studio and Spectacles AR technologies
  • Evaluate new technologies, prioritize their acquisition, and make decisions in alignment with IT roadmaps and Snap’s creative business requirements
  • Engineer and implement new solutions to meet business and performance requirements for real-time AR interactions and visual messaging
  • Automate solutions through scripting, continuous integration/deployment, and source control to accelerate network innovation
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to support enterprise, security, and business related incidents and initiatives
  • Communicate timelines, network dependencies, resource constraints, and progress with key stakeholders timely and effectively
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to adjacent engineers fostering Snap’s creative and collaborative culture
  • Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation to maintain high availability for Snap’s camera-first products
  • Integrate AI-assisted solutions into monitoring and alerting systems to enhance operational efficiency and root cause visibility
  • Promote responsible AI adoption by mentoring peers and ensuring alignment with Snap’s values and data protection standards

Minimum Qualifications

  • BS/BA degree in a technical field such as Computer Science or equivalent years of experience
  • Advanced diagnostic and troubleshooting methodology for complex, multi-vendor network environments
  • Proven ability in systematic root cause analysis (RCA) for high-availability infrastructure
  • Ability to analyze technical requirements to design, document, and implement scalable and resilient network solutions
  • Demonstrated ability to make sound, high-impact decisions, especially during critical network incidents or project planning
  • Leverage effective communication to escalate challenges to leadership and avoid service disruptions
  • Applies generative AI tools (Gemini, ChatGPT) to streamline documentation, automate troubleshooting, and speed up incident analysis and postmortems

Preferred Qualifications

  • Deep Domain expertise in core network technologies, including routing, switching, implementation and design
  • Demonstrable experience implementing and managing small to medium scale BGP deployments
  • Experience implementing and managing medium to large scale OSPF deployments
  • Experience Managing/Operating a Zero Trust VPN solution
  • Experience in Wireless Networking supporting site surveys, design, and deployment
  • Familiarity with Linux operating system and configuration management using Ansible and/or Terraform
