About the Role

Snap Inc. is a camera company believing that the camera—and AR—represent the greatest opportunity to improve the way people live and communicate. We're building the next generation of Spectacles, our AR glasses that overlay computing on the real world, empowering users to express themselves, live in the moment, and have fun together through innovative hardware from Snap Lab. Join our world-class R&D team as an Optical Quality Engineer in the Spectacles department, where you'll ensure supplier optical components meet the highest standards for cutting-edge AR experiences. In this role, you'll collaborate closely with optical suppliers on Design for Manufacturability (DFM), lead First Article Inspections (FAI), Cpk analysis, Manufacturing Site Operation Procedures (MSOP), Measurement System Analysis (MSA), and reliability testing to achieve ok2ship criteria. You'll develop advanced metrology recipes for parameters like illumination, radiometry, photometry, geometric optics, polarization, and more, while aligning supplier OQC/IQC methods and performing PPAP qualifications. Drive root cause corrective actions (RCCA), yield improvements, and onsite audits to deliver flawless lenses, mirrors, prisms, and coatings that power Spectacles' AR innovation. We're seeking a detail-oriented engineer with expertise in optical metrology and supplier management to thrive in our creative, fast-paced culture. You'll generate quality reports, conduct PFMEA and failure analysis using Six Sigma tools, and leverage data analytics in JMP/Minitab/Python to push the boundaries of camera technology. As a team player with strong Mandarin/English communication, you'll work onsite 4+ days/week in our 'default together' environment, contributing to Snap's mission of human progress through diverse, collaborative innovation. Snap is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion.
