Snap Inc
Location: Taipei City, United States
Department: Spectacles
Employment Type: Full time
Snap Inc is a technology company. We believe the camera presents the greatest opportunity to improve the way people live and communicate. Snap contributes to human progress by empowering people to express themselves, live in the moment, learn about the world, and have fun together.
Snap Inc is a camera company that believes AR innovation through Spectacles will redefine how people live, connect, and create in the real world. Our fifth-generation Spectacles, powered by Snap OS, blend see-through AR with advanced camera technology to enable seamless play, learning, and collaboration. We're pushing the boundaries of standalone AR glasses, and the Spectacles team needs a Product Design Engineer to bring bold ideas to life. Join our creative culture where engineers, designers, and AR pioneers collaborate to craft hardware that empowers authentic expression and immersive experiences. As a Product Design Engineer on the Spectacles team, you'll design, prototype, and refine cutting-edge components from initial concepts to mass production, focusing on camera systems and AR optics that integrate seamlessly into everyday wearables. You'll partner with industrial design and engineering teams to iterate on prototypes, conduct rigorous failure analysis, and optimize for manufacturability. Expect hands-on work at supplier sites worldwide (up to 30% travel), leading technical reviews, and experimenting with materials to select the best technologies for lightweight, durable AR glasses that capture and enhance real-world moments. We're seeking engineers with strong mechanical fundamentals who thrive in Snap's dynamic, innovative environment. You'll create detailed CAD models, perform tolerance and structural analyses, and drive design improvements that scale our AR vision. If you have a passion for consumer electronics, experience with plastics, metals, PCBs, or FPCs, and proficiency in tools like Nx CAD, you'll excel here. Snap's 'Default Together' policy means 4+ days a week in our vibrant office, fostering the creative energy that fuels our camera-first culture. Snap is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity, with comprehensive benefits including parental leave, health support, and equity in our long-term success.
