About Snap Inc

Snap Inc is a technology company. We believe the camera presents the greatest opportunity to improve the way people live and communicate. Snap contributes to human progress by empowering people to express themselves, live in the moment, learn about the world, and have fun together.

About the Role

Snap Inc is a camera company at heart, believing that the camera unlocks the greatest potential to enhance how people live, express themselves, and connect in the moment. Our iconic products—Snapchat's visual messaging app, Lens Studio for AR creation, and Spectacles AR glasses—power a creative ecosystem where fun, authenticity, and innovation thrive. The Growth team's Data Science & Insights group turns massive datasets into unbiased, actionable truths that accelerate decision-making. We're seeking a Product Researcher - Ads to dive deep into user and advertiser behaviors, shaping ad experiences that seamlessly blend with Snapchat's ephemeral, AR-infused world. In this role, you'll partner with PMs, Designers, Engineers, Data Scientists, and Growth experts to identify research gaps in our ad products. You'll design and execute end-to-end studies—using behavioral methods, stats, and creative approaches—to reveal how users interact with camera-driven ads, AR Lenses in advertising, and growth features. Owning everything from recruitment to high-impact presentations, you'll deliver insights that refine ad personalization, boost engagement, and fuel Snap's mission to make advertising feel native and delightful on our platform. As a user champion in our vibrant, creative culture, you'll evangelize research to embed usability and human insights into every ad innovation. Comfortable with ambiguity and rapid iteration, you'll thrive in collaborating across teams to test emerging tech like Spectacles integrations. If you're passionate about psychology, HCI, and leveraging data for product magic in a camera-first company, join us to help Snap's ads evolve with our community's playful spirit.

What You'll Do

  • Identify research needs by partnering closely with PM, Design, Engineering, Data Science, and Growth teams to optimize Snapchat's ad products
  • Craft comprehensive research plans using mixed methods tailored to camera technology, AR innovations, and user engagement in ads
  • Own the full research lifecycle: defining objectives, recruiting diverse participants, moderating sessions, synthesizing findings, and delivering impactful reports
  • Collaborate with Design, Growth, Product Management, and Data Science to conduct studies informing ad product development and emerging AR technologies
  • Clearly articulate actionable insights on user behavior in Snapchat's visual messaging and ad ecosystems to stakeholders
  • Advocate fiercely for the user, promoting user-centered design and usability in ad features that leverage Snapchat's camera and AR capabilities
  • Evangelize research-driven decisions within development teams and across Snap's creative culture
  • Analyze advertiser and user interactions with AR Lenses and Spectacles to enhance ad performance and growth
  • Present research findings to executive stakeholders, influencing product roadmaps for Snapchat's ad platform
