As a Quality Engineer, Level 5, on the Engineering team, you'll drive quality for this integrated end-to-end platform encompassing upload, download, transcoding, storage, streaming, caching, playback, and monitoring, enabling innovative AR Lenses and camera experiences. You'll help drive quality engineering for product releases, develop test strategies for camera-centric features, and implement automation to boost Snapchat's performance on diverse devices. Diagnose defects in real-time media delivery, collaborate with AR developers, product designers, and program managers to ensure testability, and champion resolutions that delight users. Your work will directly impact the seamless playback of AR-enhanced Snaps and Spectacles integrations, fostering Snap's creative culture of innovation. What You'll Do

  • Help drive quality engineering efforts for internal and external product releases on Snapchat's Media Delivery Platform
  • Develop test strategies for existing and new features enhancing camera-based Snaps, AR Lenses, and media playback
  • Define, implement, and maintain test automation to improve Snapchat’s usability, performance, hardware compatibility, and software interoperability across devices
  • Diagnose, debug, and perform root cause analysis for defects/incidents in media upload, transcoding, streaming, and playback
  • Document findings, collaborate cross-functionally to triage issues, and champion bug resolutions
  • Collaborate with Product Design, Program Management, Feature Developers, and Quality Engineering teams to define requirements and ensure testability
  • Participate in the release process for Snapchat, focusing on seamless AR and camera experiences
  • Work with partner teams to understand dependencies and develop integration/end-to-end tests for media platform
  • Provide technical support to internal team members on quality assurance for innovative camera and AR features
  • Leverage analytical thinking to enhance media delivery reliability for real-time Snaps and Spectacles integration

Minimum Qualifications

  • BS/BA degree in Computer Science, adjacent fields, or equivalent years of experience
  • 6+ years hands-on industry experience in software testing and/or software development with a focus on automated testing of client/mobile applications
  • Solid foundational skills and understanding of Object Oriented Programming
  • Proficiency with object-oriented programming in Java, Kotlin, Swift, Objective-C, or similar
  • Experience with client and/or mobile test automation frameworks (e.g., XCTest/XCUITest, Selenium WebDriver, Appium, Espresso)
  • Proficient with version control (e.g., GitHub) and issue/project tracking software (e.g., Jira)
  • Experience with TestRail or similar test suite/case management tools

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a distributed product-team environment
  • Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and/or Google Cloud
  • Experience with continuous integration/delivery systems
  • Experience with Jenkins or similar build tools
